Get to Know Chef Norbert Roche

Chef Norbert Roche brings extensive international experience and classical culinary training to his role as Executive Chef and Culinary Director. Born in Nuremberg, Germany, he began his career as a culinary apprentice and went on to train in Michelin-starred restaurants, complete master chef training and certification, and earn recognition as a Certified Master Chef in Germany. His career includes experience in luxury hotels, cruise ships, and national sales. With more than five years in senior living, Norbert is passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences that enhance community life.

Since relocating his family to the Washington, D.C., area in 2017, Norbert has embraced the region’s vibrant culture and outdoor lifestyle. He believes fresh, high-quality cuisine is central to a thriving community and focuses on made-to-order dishes inspired by Mediterranean flavors and healthy living. Outside the kitchen, he enjoys kayaking, skiing, attending concerts and museums, and spending time with residents through cooking demonstrations and special culinary events.
